Originally from Deal, Kent, Jess moved to London in 2006 to study French Literature at King’s College London. She spent time living in Paris and Montpellier before beginning work at an investment bank in Canary Wharf in 2011.
Initially she enjoyed the buzz and the lifestyle but soon began feeling unsatisfied with the lack of creativity in her life. After many days and weeks spent sitting at a desk in front of a computer and on the telephone she began playing around with the office paraphernalia and the Paperclip Penguins became her only source of creativity. When work became so busy that they were neglected, she decided it was time to get out and give them a chance.
She left the bank in April 2015 and has been spending her days designing cards and clothing and writing a book about the adventures of the Paperclip Penguin.
